UK CB & PMR446 Radio Nets | Live Shared Directory

Enable live shared updates (free)

One person sets this up once. Everyone else just opens the same page — adds and edits appear for all users in real time.

Go to Firebase Console → Create a project (any name).
In the project: Build → Realtime Database → Create database → start in test mode (or set rules below).
Project settings (gear) → Your apps → Web app → Register app → copy the firebaseConfig object.
Paste the config below and click Save. Rules recommendation (Realtime Database → Rules):

(Open write is fine for a small trusted radio community; you can lock it later.)
Optional: host this index.html on Netlify / GitHub Pages / any static host so everyone uses the same URL.

About this site

Community directory of UK CB (27 MHz) and PMR446 (446 MHz) radio nets. Pre-loaded with known nets from public sources. Anyone can add or edit.

Live mode: After one person configures free Firebase (see above), every visitor sees the same list and updates appear instantly for everyone.

Local mode: Without Firebase, data stays in your browser only (still useful for personal notes).

Legal note: CB and PMR446 are licence-exempt in the UK when using compliant equipment within Ofcom power limits (CB: 4 W FM/AM, 12 W PEP SSB; PMR446: 0.5 W ERP, integral antenna, mobile use only). Do not transmit outside authorised allocations.

PMR446 (licence-free) — 16 analogue channels, 12.5 kHz spacing, max 0.5 W ERP. Ch 8 (446.09375 MHz) = widely used calling / net channel. Ch 6 (446.06875 MHz) = main Sunday night net channel in many areas. Ch 14 (446.16875 MHz) = popular DX channel.

UK CB 27/81 — 40 channels (FM/PM). Also CEPT mid-band available for AM/SSB on many radios. Common net channels include UK Ch 19, 26, 38 and various CEPT channels for SSB DX.

Live sharing setup

Use the Configure live sharing button at the top of the page. After Firebase is connected, every visitor to this page shares one live list of nets.

Host the page on a free static host (Netlify, GitHub Pages, Cloudflare Pages) so the community has one permanent URL.
